Description

UAS was being utilized to locate Grouse leks on USFS land on the Grand River RD R1 Dakota Prairie Grasslands by ******** State University when air craft was lost. The Trimble UAV impacted terrain at the end of the third line of the block, at an altitude of 856m. The selected altitude {90m} of the block was not suitable regarding the local topography. Take off Altitude : 775m AMSL. Block Altitude 90m above Take Off Alt {775m+90mequals865m AMSL} // Precision of +/-10m – Impact altitude 856m AMSL Damage appeared to be limited to a broken propeller and some wing damage
