Description
Drone was flying back to home and at 2,290 from the pilot the drone made a sudden descent into the lake without pilot input.
Reported Cause
The pilot states they were not making any input on the controller but the data file shows full down stick. The data log also shows the pilot switched the drone into Position mode but it remained in Sport mode. DJI passed on responsibility for the loss of the aircraft.
There is also a strange log entry where the sonar altitude does not match the reported barometric altitude.
