Description
At Mayo hospital, a sizeable number gathered on a common space. The police team, especially the wireless department, turned up at the hospital with a drone. The drone flew over the health care workers raining coloured pieces of papers. The Covid warriors became emotional with some even wiping their tears.
After Mayo, the police team headed to GMCH.
The diarist decided to accompany the police team operating the drone to GMCH. The programme was planned outside the newly constructed trauma centre of GMCH.
Within a short notice, some Covid warriors assembled at the entrance. As the drone started hovering above the Covid warriors, loud cheers by onlookers started setting the mood. As the Covid warriors stood in line basking under the glory, a strange noise coming from the drone attracted attention of all, including the diarist. Everyone looked up, only to quickly realize that an accident was waiting to happen.
The drone was making strange movements and in a flash took a downward flight. The stunned Covid warriors had little time to react. The drone crash landed just at the place where the doctors, nurses, paramedical and other front line staffers were standing.
Those on whom the drone could have fallen managed to move out of harm’s way just in time. Still, some broken parts of the drone, which had ricocheted off the ground, left a couple of them injured. The diarist, who too had his heart in the mouth, rushed to help the injured. Fortunately, none needed much medical attention.
